Local SEO for businesses people find on the map
When someone nearby searches for what you do, Google shows a map and three businesses. Local SEO is the work that makes your Google Business Profile, your website and your listings around the web all tell Google the same story about you.

Is this you?
- Competitors a few blocks further away show up in the map pack and you don't.
- Your old address or old phone number still shows up on Yelp, Facebook or a directory you've never heard of.
- Your Business Profile has the wrong category, or no services listed, or photos from three years ago.
- Someone suggested an edit to your profile and Google accepted it without asking you.
- You've got happy customers but almost no reviews, because nobody ever asks.
Your NAP, everywhere
When every listing matches, customers and Google see the same business, at the same address, with the same phone. NAP is the shorthand: name, address, phone. Here's where we check.
| Where | What we check |
|---|---|
| Google Business Profile | Name, address or service area, phone, hours, primary and secondary categories, services |
| Your website footer and contact page | The same NAP, written the same way, and matching structured data |
| Apple Business Connect | Listing claimed, details match, correct pin on the map |
| Bing Places | Listing claimed and matching |
| Yelp | Details match, duplicates flagged for merging |
| Page details and address match | |
| Industry directories | The ones that matter in your trade, claimed and corrected |
| Data aggregators | The services that feed other directories, so old details stop coming back |
What you can and can't change about the map pack
You can change how complete and accurate your profile is, how your website talks about your services and area, your reviews, and how consistent your listings are.
You can't change how far the searcher is from you. Proximity is a big part of the map pack and nobody can move your building. Anyone who says otherwise is selling something.
We help you ask real customers for reviews — every customer, not only happy ones. We don't write, buy or trade reviews, and we don't edit or hide them.
We only work with legitimate business locations and service areas.
What's in the setup
- Business Profile audit and cleanup
- Categories, services, hours, description, attributes, a photo checklist and a plan for posts.
- 25 citations
- Listings built or corrected on the directories that matter for your trade and area.
- NAP audit sheet
- Every listing we found, what it says, what it should say, and its status.
- Location or service-area page notes
- What your website's location pages should cover so they match your profile.
- Review request process
- A short message and a link you can send after every job. Every customer, not just the ones you think will be kind.
- Map-pack tracking
- Monthly, inside Local Watch, for the searches we agree on.
Weeks, not days
- Weeks 1–2
Profile audit, NAP audit, fixes to the profile.
- Weeks 2–4
Citations built and corrected.
- Weeks 4–8
Directories pick up the new details. Some take longer, and a few need chasing.
When you show up in the map pack is up to Google, distance and your competitors. We won't put a date on it.
What we'll ask you for

- Recent photos of your work, your team at work, or your premises, if you have them.
- Someone who can verify the business if Google asks. That can mean a postcard or a short video.

The setup is a one-off with no term. Local Watch starts with a 3-month first term, then goes month-to-month with 30 days' notice to cancel. Paid citation services, if you want any, are not included unless the proposal says so.
No one can guarantee rankings — Google decides. We commit to the work we list and how we report it.

Full service termsLocal questions
I work from home and go to customers. Do I have to show my address?
No. A service-area business can hide its address on the Business Profile and list the areas it serves instead. We set it up that way and keep your listings consistent with it.
We have more than one location. Does Local Watch cover that?
Local Watch is one location. For several, Full Watch covers multi-location work, or we quote per location. Each location needs to be a real place where you serve customers.
Can you get us more reviews?
We can help you ask for them. That means a short message and a link sent to every customer after the job. We don't offer incentives for reviews, we don't filter out unhappy customers, and we don't write any.
How long until we show up in the map pack?
We can't promise that, and we'd be wary of anyone who does. The setup work is done in about four weeks. What Google does with it depends a lot on distance and on who else is nearby.
Our profile got suspended. Can you help?
Yes. We work out the likely reason, fix what needs fixing, and file the reinstatement request with the evidence Google asks for. The decision is Google's.
Wondering what's off about your listing?
The free audit looks at your public pages, including how they present your name, address and phone. Mention your location in the goals box and we'll keep it in mind.
